Opening night at the Hay Hill Gallery, Cork St London

Last night was the opening of Urban Landscapes at Cork Street's Hay Hill Gallery...and what a night it was! The gallery was packed by the end of the evening, with five openings on Cork St in total last night it was a very buzzing lively place to be.

I was really pleasantly surprised by the overall feel of the exhibition, it had works of many different contemporary approaches to Urban Landscape painting and was a real visual feast. With the majority of the artists all being relatively young in art years, it was fresh and vibrant and there were some fantastic painting skills on show too.

And amongst all the paintings on the gallery floor was a selection of the gallery's Rodin sculptures...I have to say, I rather enjoyed seeing my Tesco paintings next to the works of Rodin. I didnt think i'd see the day!

One artist who's work I really loved were by Will Martyr, the round canvases in the photo above and below being inspected by Tinsel Edwards. The exhibition is on until June 4th and is worth a visit if you are in the Mayfair area. Upstairs in the gallery is also a solo show by Daniela Ribeiro who's works using recycled mobile phones (she must have been collecting for YEARS!) are really worth checking out too! http://www.hayhill.com/
